Housed in a beautiful Grade II listed building in the town Centre, a small but interestingly shaped branch at Cockerton and a state-of-the-art Mobile, we aim to provide the best in books, information, research and ICT facilities to the people of Darlington and the surrounding areas.
The library is, of course, free to join, for everyone. Bring your children or grandchildren along for exciting books, storytimes and rhymetimes. Browse through our thousands of books on every imaginable subject, research your family tree, or the history of your house. Try using the internet, join a GEM session, a reading group, or just sit in comfort to read the daily paper. Look at the latest exhibition in our Art Gallery or search for somewhere nice to go at the weekend.
We have something for everyone and a welcome for all.
