Rooftops, Townscapes and Panoramas | a display of photographs 

This display brings together a selection of photographs that show Darlington from a different perspective. Taken from tall buildings or elevated positions around the town the images capture many landmarks that have dominated Darlington’s skyline over the last one hundred years. Which buildings do you recognise?

'A bit of an Historian and a Philosopher' : The Teesdale Hermit | a talk by David Butler 

This is the story of Frank Shields, 'The Teesdale Hermit'. Born in 1815, he occupied the ruins of Barnard Castle and acted as a self-appointed guide, guardian of the castle and restorer of the buildings. After leaving the castle he spent a period in the workhouse, before resuming his eccentric lifestyle at Egglestone Abbey

Do you live in Darlington and want to talk to someone about your hearing loss? Our free information drop-in sessions may be able to help you. We also provide hearing aid support to people who have their NHS Hearing aids supplied by Minor ops.
