Darlington Mobile Library Service

September 1951 - September 2016

We are very sorry to announce that due to budget cuts by Central Government, Darlington Borough Coucil has made the difficult decision to withdraw the Mobile Library service.
Jennifer, Chris and all of the staff at the Library would like to thank you for your custom and support and say that it has been a pleasure to visit you with the Mobile Library.

Darlington’s Mobile Library is a free service, open to everyone.

Visits are made every 3 weeks to many locations across the borough.

Readers can choose from over 3,000 books of all types, including books for children, large print and talking books.

If a book is not immediately available it may be reserved for a small fee. We will let you know when you can collect it.

The library has a hydraulic lift which can raise wheelchairs, push-chairs and standing passengers from ground level into the van.

For more information please contact Jennifer or Chris
